We love an emotive and atmospheric adventure, and Nightscape looks set to provide just that. Playing as Layla, you’ll venture through a fractured world to solve the mystery of your missing father and restore order to the cosmos. Nightscape is inspired by Arabian culture and myths about fallen constellations and dark monsters. Astrology plays a thematic narrative throughout. You’ll also have a goat as a sidekick companion to help solve puzzles and restore health, so what’s not to love?
Nightscape stood out to me because:
- It has a striking, distinct art style and cultural feel to it
- You’ll get to control natural elements, like rain to grow things, wind to blow objects, and lightning to activate technologies.
- The soundtrack of the trailer reminds me of The Gardens Between, but with additional Arabian instrumentation
- There appears to be a strong narrative, but also action and puzzle elements, too
- You’ll have a goat as a sidekick
- I feel like I’m going to end up emotionally invested
Nightscape is slated for a 2026 release. A demo is live, which I plan to cover in a future Demo Disc episode. In the meantime, if this looks like your jam, you can join me and wishlist Nightscape on Steam.
