Higher Plain Games has historically been about game reviews, with a slice of previews and demos where I can. Whilst reviews will continue to be the biggest part of Higher Plain Games, I’m regularly asked about supporting new game announcements and sharing trailers. I’ve been thinking about how to do this in a meaningful way, and I’m going to give it a try.
A new section will be added to the bottom of the homepage titled ‘Announcements and Trailers’. Only games I’m truly excited about will be included. Expect them to be the usual range of indie, racing, party, puzzle, platformer, and narrative fun. With discovery becoming trickier for games and with AI taking over search, this is my way to create a curated news flow of games that I’d genuinely be interested in. I do not think you’ll get more than two or three posts on any single day, outside of festival season. I’m going to trial this approach to game announcements and trailers for the remainder of 2026 and review at the end of the year.
The best way to keep up to date with all things Higher Plain Games is to subscribe to the website for email alerts for each post, and to subscribe to the Higher Plain Games YouTube channel for all my video reviews. This is a one-man band trying to cultivate a true space for gaming journalism, so your feedback is always welcome.
