I love claymation, and Claymatic Games wear their style proudly as a badge of honour in their name. Following on from the excellent Platypus Reclayed (I’m still to review it, but it’s great), the developers have announced Knuckle Creek, a claymation party brawler.
In Knuckle Creek, up to 8 players can battle in side-on arena battles, with bot support to see who can survive the slapstick attacks. There will be Last Player Standing, Team Battle, and Grand Prix modes, along with custom game settings. These will allow players to create their own options for health, weapons, fatal falls, and level voting, among other things. There will also be a single-player challenge mode alongside the local and online multiplayer modes.
With a unique style, up to 8 players, and plenty of options, I am loving the look of this. Knuckle Creek has a demo out for Steam Next Fest, where I’ll be assessing how easy to understand and varied the actual combat is. These kinds of brawlers live and die on the move sets, physics, and the understandability and balance of the characters. I’ll be aiming to give first impressions of Knuckle Creek in my Steam Next Fest Demo Disc videos, sorted by genre. You can do as I do, and wishlist Knuckle Creek on Steam.
