The penultimate Steam Next Fest Summer 26 video focuses on strategy-infused games. This includes turn-based strategy, board games, tower defence, deckbuilder, and incremental games. It’s a melting pot of sub-genres, and I have some personal standouts. Arcane Eats is a sublimely themed deckbuilder that made me hungry. Burn-9’s marketing tagline as a “reverse Metal Gear” is warranted. Sente, Flamecraft, and Flame, Forest, and Flood are three strategy board games I thoroughly enjoyed. There are plenty of others I wishlisted, too.
The games covered in this video are:
- Burn-9
- Sente
- Arcane Eats
- Flamecraft
- Cheat Death
- Flame, Forest, and Flood
- Choo Choo Defenders
- Tower Lab
- Midgardr
- Quanli the vastscape scroll
- Ascenders: Beyond the Peak
- Koromeke
- Kingdom Rush 6: Genesis
